Confessions in 2013

Confession 1

I have not blogged in a long time. It has been deliberate. Rant Fever started in 2004, and I feel like it may have run its course as a group blog. Gradually, over the last two years or so, the ranters have outgrown and moved on from this site. And that is okay. I love what has happened here and am glad for all the ranters and commenters over the years. I have no regrets.

Now I am trying to figure out what to do with this domain. It is possible that I will do one more redesign, slap a new, 3rd party CMS on it, archive what is here, and start over as a single-purpose, one-man blog. In fact, that is the most likely scenario. Any other ideas? And objections?

Confession 2

I do a weekly podcast. It is a lot easier to say this online that out loud, in real life. Every time I say it out loud, I feel über nerdy. But let's face the facts, people. These days, it is not unusual for people to have a blog. It is very common. And pretty soon, people with podcasts will be just as common. It is the future. It is time we all accept that, and it is time I stop feeling awkward about saying it. So there.

I do the podcast with my good friend, Tom. It is called White Flannel Trousers and is hosted at Moonlight Crew Publishing. We are also syndicated on iTunes, for those that like their podcast downloaded automatically.

The podcast is a critique of another podcast called Do I Dare To Eat a Peach? which is done by authors Dan Wells and Rob Wells. They cover lots of interesting topics and we review their opinions. It is fun and funny and awesome all at once, and you should give it a listen and leave a comment. Think about it.

Confession 3.

ArizonaBoy is right a lot. Whenever he tells me something, no matter what it is, I am in the habit of telling him, "that is not true." I do that because I get great pleasure out of ArizonaBoy defending himself. He is right a lot more often then almost anyone I know. He doesn't get credit for that, except for right here, on RantFever, from me, right now. I will never admit this again.
