After Much Consideration

by: Mindy Hess | on: 2010-05-23 10:41:46

The blogging world and I have had an interesting relationship. I've tried, and failed, at creating an online journal of some sort. Strangely enough, the only place I've ever felt free enough to write is right here.

So, I'm making one more attempt at a personal blog, but as Giullieta this time. She's the persona behind which my words have flowed freely, so it only makes sense that she might be able to succeed where I've otherwise failed. I won't be sharing this site with my close friends and family because then I won't be free to say what I really want to say. I realize my rants here tend to get rather personal, with plenty of over-shares, and I worry that it goes against the purpose of this forum. But, at times it can be my only outlet. I'm still going to write here as much as I can, but I'll try and keep the subject matter light and pertinent.

P & P & P

by: Abinadi Ayerdis | on: 2010-05-04 14:49:18

May is here, my friends, and that means that it is time to take on a new Jane Austen novel. This month we will be reading Pride and Prejudice.

P & P is the only Jane Austen novel I have read previous to this year. It has been a good seven years since I read it. I recall enjoying the story. It is the most widely read Austen novel, I understand. I expect this will be a good read again.

There have been many movie renditions (some better than others). As usual, I will be watching the BBC version. I will report my thoughts and musings on it here.
